EDGAR SECUREOPS / CYBERSECURITY

One mission.
Outsmart
every threat.

Outsmart every threat before it touches our systems. That is the mission driving our people, our decisions and the standards we set.

OUR MISSION / OUR DIRECTION

ESO — EST. 2022

Outsmart every threat.
Before it touches our systems.

Not a moment of vigilance. A culture of it. From the decisions we make to the controls we build, the mission is to anticipate risk, challenge assumptions and strengthen our ability to respond.

01 / OUR EXPERTISE

Think ahead.
Stay harder to breach.

Threats evolve. So must the response. We connect people, technology and operational discipline to turn exposure into action and security strategy into stronger foundations.

02 / THE RISK LANDSCAPE

Threats do not wait.
Neither should preparation.

National research provides context for better decisions. These are UK survey findings, not ESO performance figures or a live threat feed.

43%

of UK businesses

identified a cyber breach or attack in the preceding 12 months.

38%

of UK businesses

identified phishing, the most commonly reported type of breach or attack.

28%

of UK charities

identified a cyber breach or attack in the preceding 12 months.

04 / EDGAR SECUREOPS

Built with ambition.
Driven by discipline.
United by one mission.

Founded by Macauley Edgar in 2022, Edgar SecureOps began as a six-person team. Today, it has grown into an organisation of more than 400 employees.

From our first six people to an organisation of 400+ employees, our ambition has stayed clear: outthink the threat, protect what matters and keep raising the standard.

A Message From
Our Founder

Macauley P. L. Edgar
Founder & President

“I didn’t build Edgar SecureOps to be just another name in the cybersecurity industry. I built it because I believed that security should mean something more than technology, contracts, and statistics. It should mean trust. It should mean responsibility. It should mean knowing that when everything is on the line, there are people willing to stand between you and the threat.

My journey has never been about taking the easiest road. I’ve faced challenges, made difficult decisions, experienced setbacks, and learned that leadership isn’t defined by how loudly you speak or the title beside your name. It’s defined by what you stand for, what you’re prepared to sacrifice, and whether you remain standing when others would have walked away.

I believe loyalty is earned, respect is demonstrated, and integrity is non-negotiable. These aren’t simply words displayed on a company’s website. They’re the standards I expect of myself, the people who represent our organisation, and every decision made under the Edgar name.

Edgar SecureOps carries more than my ambition. It carries my family’s name, my determination, and a promise that the foundations upon which it was built will never be compromised for convenience, popularity, or profit.

Success, to me, isn’t measured solely by revenue, recognition, or how large an organisation becomes. It’s measured by the people we’ve protected, the trust we’ve earned, the opportunities we’ve created, and the legacy we leave behind.

I may have founded this company, but its future belongs to every individual who believes in what we’re building. My responsibility is to protect that future, challenge what others consider impossible, and ensure that Edgar SecureOps never forgets where it came from or why it exists.

Because ultimately, anyone can build a business. Building something worth believing in, something that outlives you, and something people are proud to stand behind — that’s what defines a legacy.”

THE EXECUTIVE PERSPECTIVE

Better questions.
Stronger decisions.

Start with the questions that connect security to the way your organisation actually works.

CYBERSECURITY / QUESTIONS THAT MATTER

Know the risk.
Strengthen your response.

Practical answers to common security questions. Use them to start better conversations with your team.

How can I recognise a phishing email?

Watch for unexpected requests, pressure to act quickly, unusual payment instructions and links or attachments you were not expecting. A familiar sender name does not prove a message is genuine. Verify sensitive requests through a separate, trusted channel using contact details you already know. Report suspicious messages through your organisation’s agreed process.

Does multi-factor authentication stop every account attack?

No. MFA adds an important layer of protection, but attackers may still steal an authenticated session, trick someone into approving a request or exploit account recovery. Prefer phishing-resistant passkeys or security keys where supported. Never share verification codes or approve a sign-in you did not initiate.

What should we do if we suspect ransomware?

Activate your incident response process immediately and contact your IT or security team through a trusted channel. Isolate affected devices from networks where safe and practical, and stop using them. Preserve evidence and keep a record of what happened. Avoid wiping systems or starting an uncoordinated recovery; those decisions should be led by the incident response team.

What makes a backup useful after a cyber incident?

A backup must be available, protected from the affected environment and proven to restore the information you need. Maintain isolated or immutable copies where practical, restrict backup administration and test restoration regularly. Agree how much data loss and downtime the business can tolerate before an incident occurs.

How often should software and systems be updated?

Enable supported automatic updates where appropriate and maintain an inventory of your systems. Prioritise actively exploited vulnerabilities and internet-facing services, using vendor guidance and a risk-based patching process. Test changes where needed, verify that updates were applied and replace unsupported software.

How do we reduce the risk of stolen passwords?

Use long, unique passwords for each account, stored in a reputable password manager, and enable MFA. Remove unnecessary accounts and permissions. If a password may have been exposed, change it from a trusted device and have your IT team review active sessions, recovery settings and related accounts.

What should an incident response plan contain?

Define how incidents are reported, who leads the response, how decisions are escalated and how people communicate if normal systems are unavailable. Include evidence preservation, containment, recovery priorities and trusted external contacts. Exercise the plan with the people who will use it and update it after lessons learned.
